Benioff is the Founder, Chairman and CEO of Salesforce and Chair of the Salesforce.com Foundation. He has long been an advocate both of software as a service and business responsibility as a force for social good. He developed the “1-1-1 model” (or Pledge 1% Movement), which pushes companies to contribute 1 % product value, 1% equity and 1% of employee hours to social causes.

In speaking about Salesforce, he emphasizes company values, including trust. Beyond the company and its foundation, Benioff (with his wife) is an active philanthropist himself. He has been outspoken about inclusion and diversity in the workforce (including gender equity and LGBT rights) and the problems of inequality and ways in which capitalism must reform itself.
