Description

The response to COVID-19 many have adopted is the rallying cry of “we are all in this together”. The reality is that they are not.

Vulnerable communities with a lack of access to food, shelter, water, healthcare, sick leave, or the physical or financial ability to isolate are falling prey to an emergent environment that allows for their exploitation, forced labor, and other forms of modern slavery to thrive. This is a crucial time to share and learn from others - the health, safety, and livelihoods of millions depend on it. This session with explore systems and structures that have failed during COVID-19 and how we can take action.

This session is part of our Cultivate the Mind track, which will examine how power and privilege relate to social justice, climate change and the environment, healthcare, philanthropy, media and entertainment, and so much more. We will explore how to build from here, what needs to be left behind, our communal responsibility as leaders.
